MANILA, Philippines: The Philippines will celebrate Eid’l Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, as a national holiday on Monday, June 17, 2024. This announcement comes from Proclamation No. 579 signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on June 4th.
The date for Eid’l Adha follows the Islamic lunar calendar, and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos recommended June 17th as the national holiday for Eid’l Adha.
Proclamation No. 579 — “Now, therefore I, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.. President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, 17 June 2024, a regular holiday throughout the country, in observance of Eid’l Adha,”
